Judith “Judy” Ann (Haneckow) Kandow

Judith “Judy” Ann (Haneckow) Kandow, 73, of Rogers City went to be with our Lord November 25, 2019 while surrounded by her loving family at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena.

Judy was born August 13, 1946 in Alpena and grew up and lived in Rogers City. There she attended and graduated (1965) from Rogers City High School.
Judy has given of her time to work in manufacturing for Rogers City Industries,
and as the cook for Rogers City jail through the Presque Isle County Sheriff’s Department, where she retired. 

Her passion has always been deeply rooted within her family. She has lovingly pursued making her home a welcoming, inviting and warm place for her children and grandchildren to grow. She was notably passionate about baking, cooking, decorating and sharing her knowledge of those things with her family. She cared deeply for her grandchildren and spent much time with them. She also enjoyed time spent with siblings. Judy gave of her time and energy wherever needed and strived to place others before herself. 

Her life will be remembered and cherished by her children, Lisa (Randy) Schram of Presque Isle, Sandy (Charles) Konarzewski of Alpena, Christine (Aaron) Playford of Pleasant Lake, Mark Kandow of Rogers City and Richard Kandow of Posen; five grandchildren, Kayla, Trever, Owen, Jeremiah and Dylan; a great-grandchild, Jayden; her eight sisters, Jule Sobczak, Jackie McDonald, Janice Murphy, Joan Gapczynski, Janel Haneckow, Jean Sager, Jennifer Bedrosian and Jolyn Benes; and her brother, Jerome Haneckow

. 

Judy has been preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mona (Zinke) Haneckow; a daughter, Amy Jo; and brothers, James, Jeffrey and Jay. 

“Be not burdened with time of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free!” 

Visitation was held at Beck Funeral Home Wednesday, December 4, with memorial service immediately following.
