Alice Kesling

Alice Kesling, 89, of Toledo, Ohio, formerly of Black Lake, passed away December 22, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

Her husband Jack and she moved to Black Lake in 1957 and he traveled around northern Michigan with Bob Angus, and Fuzz Fusee, in a band called The Echoes. There first son Todd was born at Russel Memorial Hospital in 1961. After Jack got a job in Toledo they moved away and Alice and Jack had a set of twins, (David and Donna) in Toledo November 12, 1964.

Alice took up cake decorating and was well-known for her wonderful wedding cakes. People around Toledo called her the cake lady. She opened her own business called Creative Cake Designs, and continued till 2003. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 2016. She is survived by her three children, Todd (Toni) Kesling of Columbus, Ohio, David (Laurie) Kesling of Toledo and Donna (Wayne) Heiden of Petersburg; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were in Toledo and private. The family still owns the house on Black Lake.
