Eleanor A. Kiesel

Eleanor A. Kiesel, 89, of Bay City, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.  Eleanore was born March 7, 1931 in Rogers City to the late Frank and Josephine (Hincka) Witkowski. She married the love of her life Louis A. Kiesel Sr. and he predeceased her August 3, 2003. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church. Eleanore enjoyed working with the public and always did her best to comfort grieving families while working at the former Stapish Funeral Homes.

Left to cherish her memory are four children, Louis A. “Chip” Kiesel Jr., Colin (Kim) Kiesel, Rebecca (Dale) Young and Jean (John) Szczepanski; four grandchildren, Louis “CJ” Kiesel III, Alexandra

(Bob) Anderson, Rebecca Jean Kiesel and Michael Szczepanski; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Jayce Anderson; siblings, Richard Witkowski, Janet (Phil) Whitehouse and Louis Witkowski; in-laws, Naomi Witkowski, Sally Witkowski, Dale Kiesel, Mary Gottschling and Richard (Pat) Kiesel;  many nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Jane Landosky and Lois LaBrosse. Eleanore was predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy (Mark) LaLonde, Frank Witkowski, Agnes (Roy) Savage, Estelle (Joe) Plume, Edward (Dorothy) Witkowski and Walter Witkowski; and a sister-in-law, Betty Kiesel.

The funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, January 16, at Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church, 607 E. South Union Street, Bay City, MI 48706.  The Rev. John Sarge and Deacon Ken Kochany celebrated Mass and private inurnment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in the summer.  Friends called at the church Saturday until the time of Mass.
