Beverly “Bev” Jean LeCureux

Beverly “Bev” Jean LeCureux, 67, of Onaway, died Friday, May 13, 2022 at McLaren Hospital in Flint. Born December 10, 1954 in Mount Clemens, Bev was the daughter of Fredrick and Gloria (Vought) Garms.

A lifelong resident of Onaway, Bev was a familiar face in the community after her many years of waitressing at the Cozy Kitchen, Ted’s Place, and Canada Creek Ranch, as well as the years she worked at Great Northern Drug.  Many will remember Bev from the Onaway Chiropractic Center where she was a masseuse for more than two decades.

Bev enjoyed crafting, making jewelry and knitting.  She had a tender place in her heart for animals, especially animals that were hurt and would lovingly care for them and nurse them back to health.  She loved spending time with her family which often included a fun game of dice. Bev was a wonderful, nurturing mother who was very supportive of her children.

She enjoyed horseback riding with her daughters and cooking for her sons.  Bev didn’t hunt, but was there for many deer seasons to make sure everyone had breakfast before heading for their blinds and a wholesome dinner after the evening hunt.  She was the best “camp cook’’ anyone could ask for.

Bev’s greatest attribute was her kind heart for helping others.  She was always willing to help those in need and never wanted recognition for doing good. With her gentle spirit, she was humble, respectful and truly cared for others. Bev’s sincerity, graciousness, and warm smile will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Bev leaves her longtime companion, Bill Peterman of Onaway; her daughters, Laura (Ken) Tribisondi of Onaway and Kelly (Jerry) Keller of Levering; her sons, Robert LeCureux (Sandy Gale) of Roanoke, Virginia and Bruce (Elizabeth) LeCureux of Onaway; as well as many grandchildr

en and several great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are her brothers, Howard (Kathy) Garms of Alanson, Fred Garms of Onaway and George (Mary) Garms of Rogers City; a sister (Tyra) Dan Polinchi of Wellston; and many nieces and nephews.  Bev was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Calvin; and a sister, Trudy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Chandler Park in Onaway Sunday, June 12,  from noon until 4 p.m.

Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider a donation in memory of Bev to her family to help with final expenses.
