Florence “Flo” A. Tracy

Florence “Flo” A. Tracy, 98, resident of Mackinaw City since 1957 passed away Tuesday April 26, 2022 in the comfort of her home.

Mrs. Tracy was born November 13, 1923 to Milford and Evelyn Spencer of Bay City. Florence married Robert “Bob” Tracy July 27, 1946 in Bay City. Bob and Florence moved their family to Mackinaw City in October 1957 where Bob worked for the Marathon Oil Co. until he retired.

Florence was very active supporting her family and her community through her involvement in various community organizations and church functions.  Florence’s participation was board member, officer and volunteer leader. Florence’s love of family gatherings, and playing cards, music, camping, and fishing with the love of her life Bob. Serving others filled in the busy life.     

Survivors are her children, Sharon (Robert H.) Lahaie of Rogers City, Michael R. Tracy and Farrell A. Thompson of Mackinaw City; her grandchildren, Christine (Roger) Richards, Eric (Jennifer) Lahaie, Nathan (Donna) Lahaie, Darren (Danielle) Lahaie, Timothy, Sarah (James) Kimball, Bryce Tracy, Kayla Hinckly, Evan (Missy) Thompson and Jourdan Thompson; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; including nieces and nephews from Flo’s husband’s family.

Florence was pre

ceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; a brother, William; a sister-in-law Marge Spencer; her father and mother-in-law; a brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; a grandson, Aian Tracy; and a great-grandson, Connor Thompson.

A graveside service will be held at Mackinaw City’s Lakeview Cemetery by the Rev. Dave Wallis of the Church of the Straits June 14, at 2 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Church of the Straits, Hospice of Cheboygan, The Mackinaw Woman’s Club or charity of friends’ choice.

Cremation arrangements are in special care of Hentkowski Funeral Home in Rogers City.
