Wilbur Andrew Konwinski

Wilbur Andrew Konwinski, 91, of Posen passed away peacefully at home Sunday, April 23, 2023. He was born October 26, 1931 in Posen to Casimir and Amely (Budnik) Konwinski.

Wilbur is survived by his wife of 68 years, Geraldine; seven children, Rick (Andrea) Konwinski of Hawks, Sue (Denny) McKinney of Warren, Lori Konwinski of Posen, Coni Jo (Michael) Karasinski of Coopersville, Kim (Matthew) Litwinski of Posen, Scott (Amy) Konwinski of Pennsylvania and Amy (Daniel) Scribner of Oxford; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Casimir and Amely; and his brother, Kenneth (Margaret) Konwinski.

Wilbur served in the United States Army during the Korean War. When he returned home, he married Geraldine Kowalski at St. Ignatius Catholic Church April 16, 1955. Wilbur was a self-employed carpenter who wasn’t happy unless his work was perfect. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church where he was a former usher, a member of Posen Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and a past commander. He and Geraldine were honored as grand marshals for the 2007 Posen Potato Festival Parade. They enjoyed polka dancing, often tr

aveling around the state to take part in dances and were featured on Channel 4’s polka program. Wilbur enjoyed hunting, gardening, mushroom picking and feeding the birds and the chipmunks.

Friends may visit at St. Casimir Catholic Church Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. through time of his memorial Mass at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating. Posen VFW Post 7804 will accord military honors in church immediately following Mass.

Inurnment will follow at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be given in memory of Wilbur Konwinski to Posen VFW Post 7804 or to Hospice of Michigan.
