Leona Hilla

Leona Hilla, 92, passed away January 22, 2023 in Ocala, Florida.

She was born in Rogers City August 3, 1930 to John and Anastasia (Berant) Zielinski.

She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Belleview. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, bingo, golf, puzzles and sudoku.

Leona was a mother of nine children and is survived by three daughters, Judith Hilla of Belleview, Florida, Marcia (Dave) Smolinski of Posen and Bonnie (Mike) Ruggles of Petoskey; two sons, Thomas (Laura) Hilla of Rogers City and Timothy Hilla of Wyoming; a brother, Raymond Zielinski of Rogers City; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She

was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Sr. in 2010; her parents, John and Anastasia; a daughter, Nancy Bushart; three sons, Eugene Hilla Jr, Kenneth Hilla and Steven Hilla; a grandson, Jesse Ruggles; a brother, the Rev. Norman Zielinski; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Donald Greengtski; and sister-in-law, Joyce Zielinski.

Friends may visit at St. Casimir Catholic Church Friday, May 26, from 10 a.m. through time of Mass at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.

Inurnment will follow at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements are in care of the Beck Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to St. Casimir Catholic Church, American Diabetes Association or to a charity of your choice.
