Cynthia “Cindy” Joyce Hartwick

Cynthia “Cindy” Joyce Hartwick, 59, of Hawks passed away in Alpena February 6, 2024. 

She was born in Goodrich January 19, 1965 to Thomas and Sylvia (Richards) Hartwick. 

Cindy was the first person from Presque Isle County to participate in the Special Olympics. She was a life member of the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 274 in Cheboygan. Cindy loved spending time with family and could be a little “sassy” if she didn’t agree with you. She enjoyed dancing, music, painting, camping, bowling and watching Westerns and “Star Trek” on television. Cindy was involved with Operation Holidays through the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 583 in Alpena. 

She was survived by four siblings, Richard Hartwick of St. Helen, Neil Hartwick of Hawks, David (Cindy) Hartwick of Lapeer and Valerie (John) Schalk of Rogers City; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Sylvia; and a brother, Randy. 

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home today (Thursday, February 15) from 11 a.m. through time of her funeral at 1 p.m. 

Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Case Township. 

Memorials may be given to Operation Holidays in memory of Cynthia Hartwick.
