James “Mickey” Walker

James “Mickey” Walker, 80, of Gaylord, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at August Haus.

Born April 9, 1943, in Detroit, he was the son of Clyde and Margaret (Gorman) Walker. He retired to Rogers City before returning to Gaylord’s August Haus Assisted Living where he resided for five years under the care of the wonderful staff.

In 1971, Mickey and his brother David started Walker Brothers, a heavy-duty truck and trailer sales/service in Gaylord’s Air Industrial Park. Together with many special employees, they built a business with integrity, character and hard work that lasted for 45 years! Mickey enjoyed most being out on the road going to customer locations throughout northern Michigan.
