Bonnie Bruning
Bonnie Bruning of Rogers City, passed away at 78 years old July 12, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Florida.
She is survived by her sister, Ruby Makowski (Marvin); a son, Robert Matzke; a daughter, Kim Bruning; and a son, Scott Bruning. Preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Blanche (Steele) Gemmil; and her siblings, Viola Reisener (Ervin), Beatrice Reisener, Dorothy Brege (Norman), Mildred Nelson (Robert), Isabelle Gemmil, Jeanette Liechty (Karl), Robert Gemmil, William Gemmil and Eugene Gemmil.
Bonnie excelled as a musician playing for the bands The Gamblers and The Happy Wonderers, and enjoyed playing bluegrass music with her sisters at the cottage.
Bonnie played several instruments, including accordion, button box, drums, piano and keyboards and singing. She worked as an EMT for the Rogers City Ambulance Service and was a home health care worker.
She enjoyed spending time in the woods mushroom and blueberry picking and playing cards with her family.
