Elaine Kay Rose

Elaine Kay Rose, known to most as “Kay,” died at her daughter’s home in Alpena Monday July 1, 2024.  The daughter of Fred and Anna (Brady) Milbocker, Kay was born in Onaway April 6, 1939. She married Earl Daniel Rose, known to most as “Denny,” in Millersburg October 26, 1957. They made their home and raised their family in Alpena before moving to Conway where they lived for many years. Kay was a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and an awesome grandma who made a loving home for her family. She and Denny always grew an amazing garden with plenty of vegetables to feed their family and had the best strawberry patch where Kay picked plenty of berries for making jam. And then there was baking… It would be hard to find someone who could bake as well as Kay. There were always fresh baked goodies for kids when they came home from school and her homemade cinnamon rolls were simply the best.

Kay was the best Mom in the world and the only thing she was better at than being a mom, was being a Grandma! Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved taking care of them and doting on them. Family camping trips to Black Lake and Clear Lake were a tradition that Kay, Denny, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren looked forward to every summer. Family camping made for plenty of laughter, good times, and the fondest memories for all.
