Marian (Nordine) Kalember

Marian (Nordine) Kalember, 77, of Gaylord via Bergland, Rogers City and Coopersville, passed away September 10, 2024. She was born and raised in Kenton and Bergland, and graduated from Bergland High School, marrying Neil Kalember, the love of her life, in 1965. 

She was employed as an elementary teacher at Posen Consolidated Schools for 29 years then retired with her husband to Lake Gogebic in Bergland, after building their “Chalet on the Bay.” Marian loved time with family and friends at the lake, golfing, watching the Green Bay Packers and Michigan State Spartan Basketball. 

She is survived by her son, Jeff (Stephanie) of Gaylord; her daughter, Jill (Tom) Kline of Grand Rapids; and

five lovely grandchildren, Mateah (Manaseh) Wyant, Andrew (Morgan) Kalember, Anna (Brendan Fiorani) Kalember, Connor Kline and Harrison (Kylie) Kalember. Marian is also survived by her beautiful and beloved great-granddaughter, Haley Dietrich. Other surviving relatives include Kathy Nordine of Denver and Russell (Faye) Nordine of Bergland. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Viola Nordine of Bergland; her husband, Neil Kalember; a sister, Marilyn (Russ) Bailey; and a brother, Rodger (Mary) Nordine.

A Celebration of Life service will occur in the summer of 2025 in Bergland.
