Michele “Chele” Ann Peters

Michele “Chele” Ann Peters, 72, of Onaway, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 19, 2024.  

Michele was born in Minnesota but was raised and graduated high school in South Dakota in 1970.  She moved to Michigan in 1977, and married Michael Lee Peters June 16, 1979, in Onaway.  Chele was very active and involved with the Northland Players Theatre Group and Northland Notable singing group in Cheboygan. 

 She enjoyed her morning routine with the Onaway Breakfast Club and was a dedicated advocate and volunteer for Hospice of Michigan.  She enjoyed attending the exercise club at the senior center in Onaway and was a member of the Birthday Club. 

Chele is survived by her husband, Michael; and daughter, Jennifer (Jamie) Nye of Onida, South Dakota.  She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Colton, DeShayne and Jessica; four great-grandchildren, Myles, Cooper, Amelia and Remi; and sisters, Kristi Jo (Mike) Westerbeck, Jeri Lou Sabie and Tonya Marie Hess. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers.

A memorial service for Michele will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
