Lawrence “Larry” Anthony Reisner

Lawrence “Larry” Anthony Reisner passed peacefully October 12, 2024, at the age of 81, from complications of pancreatic cancer. He was the second of seven sons born to the late Anthony and Ruth Reisner.

Larry grew up on his family’s farm near Posen and spent his teenage years working with his grandparents and uncles at the Reisner Dairy. He worked on Great Lakes’ freighters, at GM, Detroit Diesel and Site Development. He spent nearly 25 years with the Michigan Disaster Medical Assistance Team, providing medical assistance in the wake of natural disasters. He was honored to serve the citizens of Novi for 45 years as a member of the Novi Fire Department, retiring in 2022 as a lieutenant.

If he wasn’t tending to one of his gardens, Larry could be found repairing fire trucks, tractors, motorcycles, generators and all sorts of small engines; he always seemed to get them running. He enjoyed traveling and had a special place in his heart for Hawaii.

Larry is survived by his wife, Maria; and his beloved daughters, Shannon (Dan) Dye, Sheila (Jeff) Sirabian and Tiffany (the late John) Demyanovich. He was a loving grandfather to Casey, Danny, Chelsea (Mike), Eric, Stacey, Jacob and Emily; and great-grandfather to Nuala. He is also survived by his brothers, Bill (Frances), John (Carolyn), Edward (Carolyn), Stephen (Sharon) and Paul (Dorie); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Ruth; his brother, Anthony Il; son-in-law, John Demyanovich; and mother of his beloved daugh

ters, Carol.
