Robert “Bob” Kerwin Gibson II

Robert “Bob” Kerwin Gibson II, 41, of Southgate passed away from natural causes in his home October 7, 2024. Bob entered this world smiling March 2, 1983 in Rogers City. He had a keen wit from an early age. At only 4 years old, he announced he was changing his name to “Alan” to honor Alan Trammell. He would answer to nothing else for a full year. He attended 35 Tigers’ home openers in his 41 years. 

Bob attended St. Ignatius Catholic School and Rogers City High School before relocating to Bear Lake where he graduated in 2001. He proudly boasted that he graduated in the top 10 of his class, while leaving out that the class size was only 12. 

Bob married Christina “Tina” Cline November 11, 2011 when they eloped to Tennessee before returning to settle their home in Southgate. He was employed in management with Best Buy and spent his free time either following the Detroit Tigers or playing guitar in one of the many bands with which he was affiliated.

e, Tina; his mother, Theresa Gibson;  his father, Bruce Fountain; his brothers, Mike (Tyler) and Riley (Hannah); his father- and mother-in-law, Mike and Catherine Cline of Dearborn Heights; and his grandmother Meredith Fountain of Cedarville. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert Kerwin Gibson I and Margaret Lynch Gibson, and James Fountain.

Services will be held at Martenson Funeral Chapel in Allen Park with a viewing Thursday (today), October 10 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again Friday, October 11, from 2 p.m. until the funeral service at 6 p.m.
