Gordon Charles Altman
Gordon Charles Altman, 68, of Gaylord passed away at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City April 10, 2025.
He was born in Rogers City to Theodore and Charlotte (Stiger) Altman August 14, 1956.
Gordon graduated from Rogers City High School in 1975. On October 24, 1981 he married Karen Heinzel at St. John Lutheran Church in Hagensville.
They divorced, then re-married June 24, 1991 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Gaylord. Gordon was a hardworking farmer and machinist who took great pride in making his yard the showplace of the neighborhood. Gordon retired from Kitchen Farms in Elmira. He was a proud dad and grandfather who enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, campfires and Nascar.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; three children, Christine Altman of Gaylord, Joe Altman of San Diego and Matthew Altman of Gaylord; two grandchildren, Delaney and Gabriella; and seven siblings, Rodney (Bonnie) Altman, Paul (Mary) Altman, Sharon Altman, Doug (Sylvia) Altman, Phyllis Alt
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Charlotte; two brothers, infant Harlow and Noel; and a brother-in-law, Kevin Elliott.
Friends may visit at St. John Lutheran Church in Hagensville Tuesday, April 22, from 11 a.m. through time of his memorial service at noon with Mr. Carl Altman officiating.
Inurnment will take place at St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
