Judy Ann England

Judy Ann England, age 78, passed away peacefully June 11, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved.

Judy was born April 3, 1948, to Thomas and Mary (Kendzorski) Kuznicki Sr. On December 20, 1969, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Rogers City, she married the love of her life, Kenneth England Sr., building a beautiful life and spending 56 years of devoted marriage together. A wonderful and loving mother, Judy’s proudest achievement was raising her five great children.

Judy was a pillar of her community in northern Michigan. For many years, she dedicated her time to volunteering at local food pantries and soup kitchens. When her children were young, she was highly active at Alanson-Littlefield School, serving both as a dedicated volunteer and a member of the PTO. In the 1990s, she brought pure joy and imagination to local classrooms through the ELF program. As one of the beloved “ELF Ambassadors,” she would dress up in full costume to bring science experiments to life for local schoolchildren.

By far, Judy’s biggest impact on the world was the size of her heart and how much she cared for all living things. Her backyard was a haven where she loved feeding and watching the local wildlife, from the deer to the hummingbirds (and she held a special affection for frogs). She was constantly bringing home, fostering, and nursing injured or stray animals back to health. Remarkably, this hospitality wasn’t just reserved for wildlife. Over the years, Judy also opened her home and her heart to two young teenage men when they were going through difficult times. She took them in like family, caring for them and helping them get back on their feet before sending them back out into the world.

To know Judy was to love her, and quite often, to be fed by her. She was an amazing baker whose homemade cookies and cakes were legendary-quite simply the best you’ve ever had.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth England Sr.; her five children, Jennifer Fulger, Valerie Diguili

o, Annette Schaefer, Kenneth England Jr. and Arthur England; her six grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew, Anna, Emily, Kenny and Ellie; her two step-grandchildren, Joshua and Kayla; and her step-great-grandchild, Aries.

She also leaves behind her siblings, Marianne Dillon, Ron (Gladys) Kuznicki, Suzanne Bilger, Dennis (Kitty) Kuznicki, Arthur (Judy) Kuznicki and Carol Ciarkowski; as well as her sisters-in-law, Wendy Kuznicki and Michele Kuznicki. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Kuznicki Sr.

A funeral Mass for Judy will be held at St. Clement Church of Pellston, June 19, 2026. Visitation starts at 1 p.m., with the funeral Mass following at 2 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Thomas Philip.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association to support ongoing research and the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
