Robert “Bob” H. Mount

Robert “Bob” H. Mount, 76, of Black Lake (Onaway), went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 13, 2021. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana September 26, 1944, Bob was the son of Edwin and Jessie (Bellamy), Mount. He married Cubelle “Belle” Moody January 2, 1981 in Houlka, Mississippi.

The pair made their home in greater Detroit where Bob worked as a journeyman sheet metal worker out of Detroit Local 292 until retiring in 2000. After retirement, Bob and Belle lived and traveled in their “RV” full time before putting down roots at Black Lake to be closer to their family.

Devoted to their Christian faith, Bob and Belle joined the church family at the First Baptist Church of Onaway.

Unless he was at church, Bob typically wore his signature Chevy ball cap and suspenders. A man of few words, he didn’t need to say a lot, to say a lot. In the right company, he could be witty or even sarcastic. He was meticulous, orderly, and insisted that everything was kept in place. Bob collected interesting trinkets, rocks, and bird, frog, and pig figurines.

He loved nature and enjoyed feeding the birds, but all animals held a special place in his heart – especially his Yorkie dogs. Most important to Bob was

spending time with his family. Together they enjoyed camping trips and spending time at the lake.

Bob’s quiet, humble demeanor and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by his wife of 40 years, Belle of Black Lake; his son Robert S. (Teresa) Mount of Bedford, Pennsylvania; daughters, Lori Mount of Fruitville, Florida and Carrie (Tony) Sierra of Howell; eight grandchildren Angelina, Destiny, Chris, James, Tyler, Lauren, Jenna and Genesis; as well as two great-grandchildren, Mia and Dylan.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jack.

Visitation was held at the First Baptist Church, 20473 Elsden St. in Onaway Tuesday, March 16, until the funeral service with the Rev. Josh Ferraiuolo officiating. Bob’s final resting place will be at Waverly Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider a donation in memory of Bob to First Baptist Church.
