Timothy “Brown” G. Brown

Timothy “Brown” G. Brown, 73, of Onaway, died at home Wednesday, December 7, 2022. The son of Edmund and Leomah (Curry) Brown, he was born March 9, 1949, in Saginaw. He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1967 and later that year, December 2, married Judi Bartelt. Blessed with 55 years of marriage, they made their home in Saginaw, raised a family, and eventually retired to northern Michigan.

Brown retired in 1997, after 30 years with General Motors Co., where he had worked at both the Saginaw Parts Plant and the Flint V8 Engine Plant. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 659. After spending many vacations camping at Black Lake, Brown realized his dream to live in northern Michigan and in 2001 moved to Onaway. It was a move that suited him well as he could spend time doing the things he enjo

yed, hunting, fishing and golfing. Not only did Brown play golf, but he also spent 17 seasons working as a ranger at the Black Lake Golf Course. With his love and appreciation of classic cars, he and his son restored a 1970 Chevelle. Most of all, Brown loved his family. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and “papa.”

Brown leaves his wife, Judi, of Onaway; a daughter, Pari (Bob) Greene of Presque Isle; a son, William (Stephanie) Brown of Clare; and his grandchildren whom he enjoyed very much, Morgan and Kaylee Greene and Dylan, Dalton and Abigail Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Brown will be honored by his family privately. Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider a donation in memory of Timothy Brown to Hospice of Michigan at www.hom.org or the Onaway Ambulance Equipment Fund. Cremation arrangements were in care of Chagnon Funeral Home.
