Russell L. Wenzel Sr. formerly of Rogers City passed away peacefully Saturday, January 14, 2023 in Shelby Twp. Russell was born September 9, 1930 to Arthur and Julia (Glentz) Wenzel in Rogers City. He married Alice Simpson February 16, 1951. Russell retired from Calcite. He enjoyed his family, camping, fishing and spending his winters as a Texan.

Russell is survived by his children, Julie Shooks, Cathy Moore, Carl Wenzel, Jean Girling, Lori Kingsbury and Toni Risch; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; a son, Russell II; and a daughter, Katherine.
