Harold Clifford “Cliff” Dodge

Harold Clifford “Cliff” Dodge, 92, of Long Lake was called home by his Lord Friday, May 19, 2023.

He was born November 4, 1930 in Hawks to Harold and Genevieve (Caldwell) Dodge.

Clifford graduated from Rogers City High School in 1949. He was employed by Michigan Limestone Company and sailed on the steamer SS Carl D. Bradley from 1951 to 1954. He married Doris Maerz September 12, 1953. Cliff and Doris then moved to Long Lake in 1957. Upon this move, he was employed by Abitibi as a fabrication foreman for some 35 years until his retirement in 1992. He was an active parishioner at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alpena for more than 60 years. Cliff enjoyed living at Long Lake and watching beautiful sunsets.

He is survived by four children, Carol Dodge (Robert) Grochowski of Alpena, Timothy Dodge of Long Lake, Steven (Charlotte Yu) Dodge of Ann Arbor and Amy Dodge of Alpena; five grandchildren, Carl Lukitsch, Grant Lukitsch, Alison Lukitsch, Emily Dodge and Nathaniel Dodge; two great-grandchildren, Chance and Cooper; and his special friend, Carol Boyd.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Doris, and his sister, Doris Tulgetske.

Friends may visit at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alpena today (Thursday, May 25) from 9 to 10 a.m. with the memorial service commencing at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James Erickson officiating.

Inurnment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers City where the Rogers City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 607 will accord military honors.

Memorials may be given in memory of Clifford Dodge to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
