Carol Ann Przybyla

Carol Ann Przybyla, 77, of Rogers City passed away Sunday evening November 5, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.

The daughter of John and Martha (Wagner) Miller was born March 14, 1946 in Alpena. Carol was raised in Rogers City, and graduated from Rogers City High School in 1964. After graduating she went to cosmetology school in Petoskey where she received her license to practice. She was married to Thomas Wodek in 1966 until his passing in 1986.

She became sole owner and operator of Elite Academy of Beauty School in Waterford from 1980 until 1992. She moved back to the Rogers City area in 1994, being widowed for eight years she crossed paths with a classmate following a queen’s pageant.  

After four years of courting, she married James “Jim” Przybyla August 8, 1998, celebrating 25 years of marriage this past August. For nine years they immensely enjoyed their little place of heaven – Siesta Bay, Fort Myers, Florida until Hurricane Ian claimed it. She worked for Rogers City Tendercare in the kitchen and was also able to do hair there. She  spent a few fall seasons working at Knaebe’s Apple Farm until they had a 100-pie day, and decided that was enough. Carol treasured her four grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband

, Jim; a son, Todd (Kristi) Wodek and their children Olivia, Davis and Wren; a daughter, Kelli Wodek and her daughter Brooke; two sisters, Jacqueline Andrzejewski and Marilyn Stone; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; and a brother, Melvin Miller. 

Arrangements are in care of Hentkowski Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, November 10, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial Mass with the Rev. Charles Donajkowski officiating. Inurnment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Ignatius Catholic School, or Rogers City Ambulance Authority.
